Oklahoma City Thunder to Target ‘Dream’ Superstar, per Blockbuster NBA Free Agency Proposition
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma City Thunder, despite getting ousted by the Dallas Mavericks from the 2024 NBA Playoffs, earned plenty of believers. This is a young team with so much promise for the future. They have proven to be a force to reckon with in the league, a legitimate NBA title contender that could be just a piece away from winning the franchise’s first NBA title as soon as the 2024-25 NBA season.

With the NBA free agency looming, the Thunder have an opportunity to lure a free agent to town (or back to town).

In a recent article by David Kenyon of Bleacher Report, he floated the idea of Los Angeles Clippers star forward George being a target by the Thunder in free agency.

The dream? Reuniting with Paul George.

Oklahoma City kickstarted this promising era when it dealt George to the Clippers for a package highlighted by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Bringing him back would be delightfully ironic—and fun to watch.

George may stay in LA, though, leaving the Thunder to consider Tobias Harris as a splashy target. OG Anunoby is another terrific fit, though he may stick with the New York Knicks. DeMar DeRozan and Klay Thompson are big names to know but probably aren’t as appealing.

For George to become a free agent, he will have to opt not to pick up his 2024-25 player option worth $48.787 million.
